Do You Know Jesus?

What is it that you want out of life?

Money – fame – power?

Have you ever thought about PEACE?

Now I’m not talking about world peace or civil peace or peace of mind. I’m talking about your peace with God.

Do you ever feel tired and worn out by fighting all the drama life generates or asked the question, “Is there more than this…?” Wouldn’t it be awesome if there was a place that you could go and unload all the ugliness that builds up? If you answered either of these questions honestly with a yes, rest assured you’re not alone. Please allow me a few moments to show you why you feel this way and explain how simple it is to remedy the situation.

To begin with I want you to know that I will be using quotations from the Bible. You may be asking, “Why not use something a little more modern or something written by a psychiatrist?”

The answer to that is simple—the Bible is God’s written Word to mankind. Some people call the Bible God’s love letter to His creation. If a person is seeking peace with God, then there is no better source to look for the solution than in God’s own Words. Don’t you agree?

It is no wonder that you feel the way you do. The Bible tells us in Romans 3:10, “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:” That means that no matter how “good” we try to be, we cannot for it is against our very nature. In the same chapter in verse 23 we find, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” God is righteous (good). We fall short of that goodness because our nature is sinful or bad.

You say, “That’s nice but where does it leave me?”

Again, according to the Bible, sin is worthy of punishment, a punishment of death. Not just physical death but spiritual death—eternal separation from God. My friend, this is not the answer you are looking for. There is a way that you can have eternal life and have that heavy burden of sin and wrong lifted from your shoulders. Romans 6:23 says, “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Let me put it this way; Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, was born as a child about 2000 years ago. He grew up as a man and then ministered to others. Then one day, as was prophesied, He was arrested, tried, convicted, and executed as a common criminal. The One who knew no sin was put to death so that you and I would not have to face the penalty of sin—death. Jesus Christ literally became sin in our stead. This is God’s marvelous gift!

Romans 5:8 tells us this also, “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” The wording is a little different but the message is the same. God loves each of us, no matter how much ugliness is inside, so much that He sent His only Son to die for our sins in our place. Wow! That is a love that is difficult to understand, but He did it and unconditionally too!

Now you may be asking how you can get rid of all that sin load and have eternal life with Christ. Listen to God’s Word once again for the answer. Romans 10:9-10 tells us exactly how you too can have eternal life. Read slowly and understand clearly what the words are saying, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” To add reinforcement to this the writer adds in verse 13, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

You see my friend, Jesus died for your sins but He didn’t stay dead. The Bible tells us that on the third day He was resurrected (or risen) from the grave. Because of this power over death and the grave, Christ has the power also to grant us eternal life and victory over sin. To gain eternal life is so simple that many people pass it by. Please don’t be one of these folks. They will spend eternity away from God in a place called Hell. This too is promised in the Bible.

Remember the verse that said, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord…?” That is you! Just ask God to forgive you of your sins and to come into your life and save you from eternal death. Ask it in Jesus’ name and believe the things from the Bible I have shown you. Talk to God right now—don’t put it off for another time. Jesus Christ will save you as soon as you have invited Him to do so.
